Jaja* is a contemporary circus show for the audience aged 12 and above. It lasts 45 minutes and has 2 artists with juggling as speciality on stage. In Jaja juggling meets theater, music and dance. The show is reflecting on the everchanging nature of life and people’s relationship with the change itself. We always crave change, but we are also afraid of it. Through games and circus vocabulary, Jaja invites the audience to ponder together about how it is possible to embrace the cyclical nature of life, and “play the cards we are given”.

SUITCASE at the EJC was not my proudest performance in terms of technique or aesthetics. However it was my proudest performance in terms of honesty and truth to myself. Before the summer I hadn’t been in a place mentally where I was able to do the work that I’d like to do, so an easy way out would’ve been to lean on my older technique which I know I can always bring out to impress.
I don’t want my life to be about impressing.
If I’m going to impress I’m impressing myself and that’s why I’m so proud that I managed to stand in my depressive feelings and talk about where I’ve been the past year through my preferred language – juggling and movement.

The show has littering, pollution, climate change, and polarisation as common threads. Even though these subjects are getting more and more focus in the media, the scope of the problem is hard to grasp. In a playful way, the artists attempt to give the audience some new perspectives and awaken their curiosity through the art of juggling. A door, a chair, a man surrounded by books. He manipulates objects tirelessly with precision. His large body and his hands construct and deconstruct a moving space. Knock knock knock, there’s a knock on the door, but no one is there… A ghost emerges, a benevolent shadow suspended in the void. She will disrupt his world and take him on an initiatory journey through a dreamlike imagination. Like any inwards journey, the man will no longer be the same, he will be transformed, ready to cross the doorstep.
With Dénoué we want to guide children to travel with us and surprise them with atmospheres that can scare as much as amaze.
