What happens when you combine contemporary music with modern circus art? How to awaken creativity in yourself that merges boundaries and steps outside the box? Can you learn the unknown by playing?
Concert hall “Lielais dzintars” implements the project “Art laboratory “CirqueMusique”” until February 2024. During this, together with the project partners from Iceland and Norway, as well as involving professional young Latvian composers, musicians and circus artists from Latvia and Norway, a mobile interdisciplinary musical show with elements of circus and choreography will be created for a young audience.
One of the main activities of the project is the creative workshops or atelier, which will take place in 2023. In them, students of four regional music schools and other young people aged 12 to 18 will be able to participate in music and circus lessons, and will participate in the creative process themselves. Under the guidance of professional musicians and composers, the participants will learn stage skills, as well as expand their art perception experience together with circus artists. The project will promote the growth of young art professionals and their understanding of contemporary stage works, as well as be an investment in the creation of high-quality artistic content intended for a young audience and regional involvement.
